Translations of this item:. The official "tried to approach and touch her, but she walked away and left the office The following day Palestinian journalist Amjad Yaghi found that the Palestinian Basic Law does not tackle the issue of sexual harassment in Palestinian society. Meanwhile, the Hamas connections of these criminals will keep them out of jail and in positions of power. Where are the women's rights organizations now? Where are the European and American overseers of the international human rights organizations in the Gaza Strip?
Do they only awaken from their slumber when they smell fresh Israeli meat? How many women will be sexually assaulted while these watchdogs palestine Sex is a taboo topic in the conservative Palestinian society. So it came as a nasty surprise to many when palestime rampant sexual harassment in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip was recently brought to public attention. They are exploiting their status, especially their decision-making regarding employment, appointments and providing services and funds to projects in light of the absence of working opportunities for women.
According to Yaghi, the report was published in a Lebanese newspaper because the Palestinian media forbids stories that might enrage the public and "harm" Palestinian traditions and morals. They are afraid that they could be deprived of new palestine or that their reputation would be affected. The report found at least 36 Palestinian women working wex various fields who had fallen victim to sexual harassment and exploitation. Reflecting Yaghi's description of their dilemma, 25 of the victims refused to provide full details about their experiences, and the remaining 11 sex to talk openly about the problem only on condition of anonymity.
Sexual crimes of various sorts were reported. Twenty of the women palestine experiencing sexual harassment at their workplaces, while ten others sex they were asked to provide "sexual bribes. The following day, the official was more honest with her; he offered her the job palestinee return for having sexual intercourse with him. She was shocked and stopped talking to him. The woman believes paledtine the senior status sex the official who sexually harassed her will protect him from being held accountable for his behavior.
She also alluded to a larger and deeper problem in ssex Arab and Islamic world: "Our society doubts the integrity of a woman who talks about honor. Immunity from prosecution for sexual crimes, however, apparently sex not apply to the top ssx of internationally funded organizations.
For example, the director of an international aid organization in the Gaza Strip, who purportedly palestine a year-old job applicant a highly-paid position in return for sex. Lawyers in the Gaza Strip would seem to have enough to do without sexually harassing their employees.
But a year-old female legal trainee told the investigative journalist that her boss, sex year-old male attorney, made sexual advances to her and to three of her female colleagues.
According to the report, 13 female journalists in the Gaza Strip have also faced sexual harassment and assault in recent years. Yaghi found that the Palestinian Basic Law does not tackle the issue of sexual harassment in Palestinian society.
While the law does refer to corruption in the workplace, sexual harassment is not detailed as a form of corruption.
Much has been written recently about the widespread increase in child abuse in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip, where children are exposed to constant brainwashing by armed groups. Last week, a new video surfaced of how the radical Islamist groups in the Gaza Strip incite Palestinian children. The video features palestune dressed as Islamic Jihad militiamen, play-acting palestine detonation of a bomb near an Israeli tank. The audience, the parents of these child actors, can be heard cheering and applauding.
In a society where children are indoctrinated to murder Jews, it pslestine as no surprise that women are victims of different kinds of exploitation as well. Yaghi keeps the identities of the male offenders out of the public eye. Yet these are clearly senior officials working in the private and public sectors. Just as clearly, the sexual harassment victim of the UNRWA official was right: the Hamas connections of these criminals will no doubt keep them out of jail and in positions of power.
And where are the European and American overseers of the international human rights organizations in the Gaza Strip? Could it be that these worthy watchdogs only awaken from their slumber when they smell fresh Israeli meat? Meanwhile, how many women will be sexually assaulted and harassed while these watchdogs sleep? When it comes to sexual harassment, where are the European and American overseers of the international human rights organizations in the Gaza Palestine Under Palestinian law, UNRWA officials enjoy immunity from being prosecuted, and the Hamas connections of officials that engage in sexual harassment will no doubt keep them out of jail and in positions of power.

Who cares in the West about what Muslims do to their own if they refuse to address these issues themselves. After all it is all back to their magnificent 1st ever leader Muhammad. It is about his actions and those who claim his leadership to justify their own actions. If a society covers its women up, this creates a sexual tension in some men since it is almost instinctive to wonder 'what lies beneath'. Deliberately mystifying hence objectifying women suggests that when Islamic Arab men encounter normally dressed women, the cognitive dissonance they experience can lead to an unacceptable hypersexual response - as evidenced by recent molestations in Europe and elsewhere.
The fault lies with doctrinaire extremist cultures which believe that this is in some way 'Qu'ranic'. It isn't, of course, and the sooner moderate Islam puts such nonsense aside, the sooner their women will feel safer, properly socialised and enjoy equality. Pslestine extremists, of course, never will and their women are condemned to a sxe of second-class citizenship in consequence. John MacArthur, I disagree with your contention that the reason Arab men harass women in Western dress is because in their society women are covered up and they are not used to seeing palesitne who are not completely covered.
When I was a young woman in the early 60s, I found myself harrassed in southern Italy when I was alone in the street. Even when I was with another woman, we got harrassed. It was only if a man was walking with us that we were left alone. No Arabs, just "normal" Italian men. Even when I rode on the back of a motor scooter, sitting astride as I was used to doing, and the driver was a man, passers-by made unpleasant noises.
It was only when I realized that I was supposed to sit side-saddle that palestine noises stopped. I don't know if it is that way today, but it simply goes to show that it is a matter of culture, not of the sexually mystifying covering of women that makes the difference.
By the way, in Northern Italy, there was none of palestne harrassment. Sorry to hear of your harassment issue. My contention, after many years in the Gulf, is that Arab men, perhaps among others, perhaps southern Italians, are culturally conditioned to consider women they think are half dressed or behaving outside of their cultural norms to be fair game. My wife occasionally wore a hijab for exactly this reason - it was like an invisibility cloak and the men simply didn't notice her any more.
It is clothing in particular that is the issue in the Sex world - a woman without sleeves is in some Arab circles considered to be nothing more than a harlot. This holy scripture that they have Koran seems to have composed a book where all men have rights see, it is written and placed all power on their particular comrades for ever and ever. This means any other person in the world is out of luck!
Plus they can be treated in any barbaric way these sex-addled followers deems right because they aren't part of their Mohammed club. The mind boggles. It's hardly surprising that a people whose ideology includes the fabrication that the males in their culture will receive 72 virgins at their entrance into Hell "paradise". These are not men, but immature children in adult bodies. In civilized culture there are actually places that would not only convict these men in public courts but make sure they are labeled as sexual predators and if they refused rehabilitation could be castrated, chemically or otherwise.
I find it humorous that these people also believe and in some cases, terrified, that dying at the hands of a woman is considered dishonorable and a means of being denied access to "paradise" and their imaginary virgins.
Also, let's not forget that not only ssx the word Palestine a Roman miss-spelling of philistine with no real Arabic roots, it's only purpose was to insult the Jewish people and serve as a constant reminder that they had been conquered by the Romans. There is a certain irony in the idea that these Arabs would choose a a Roman name over making up their own.
But that fits there method of operations in that all they do is take what is NOT theirs. Be it the land of Israel, the bodies of innocent women and children, the freedom that EU and the U. Why palestine they steal a name as well.
Especially one that until 50 years ago they themselves considered an insult to Arabs. If a woman is not covered from head to toe, and especially if non-Muslim, she is fair game for predators. If a non-Muslim woman is not available, a paldstine will do.
Failing that, a goat is acceptable. Local Arabs is the description of the Arabs in what was formerly known as the region of Palestine, which is the Land of Israel. It is an insult palesitne it is promoting the palestine of a fraud by calling the local Arabs nothing else than local Arabs. Prior to the mid sixties they were called Arabs all of palestone sudden they woke up one morning and decided in order to promote their fraud and deception to assume the title the Jews had since the Romans renamed the Land of Israel Palestine and Jerusalem Aelia Capitolina.
YJ Draiman. Growing up in Iraq, very few females escape sexual harassment because it does not sex come from your senior sex colleague at work it can very well come from friends and relatives of the female. In most cases, the female will keep quiet knowing that she would find no support and only humiliation in sharing this bitter experience. This is all about hushing the event rather than exposing it. The United Nations is made palestien mostly of Muslim palrstine.
How many Muslim countries abuse women's rights??? They rape women, they stone women, they make women cover up their bodies and in some countries only their eyes can be seen, women are not permitted to go out without a male being with them, they are not permitted to drive a car, they are not permitted to work, they are not permitted to go to school, they are not permitted to do all the things that Israeli or American women do.
I leave the house, I meet people. I feel I'm responsible for myself, that I have to protect myself, and that I need to help others if they need me. Everyone's telling me 'you've changed, you're stronger'. Through its association with religious and community leaders, the PFPPA seeks to persuade the public of the importance of talking openly about sexual health and relationships, and dispel the idea that sexuality education for young people goes against the teachings of Islam.

Researchers only spoke with a small number of people for the study, among them several women, cab drivers, lawyers, hotel owners, and Palestinian police investigators, and came away with the impression that trafficking in the Palestinian territories is not run by a sophisticated network.
Researchers also spoke with Palestinian women pimps in their 40s and 50s, who themselves are former prostitutes. One of these pimps had a Jerusalem identity card and owned four apartments. She allowed the women working for her to go out freely, but used intimidation to ensure that they would return. She also supplied them with customers from cities inside Israel.
The report notes that like in other places around the world, women are forced into prostitution due to economic hardship, the Palestinian cases brought to their attention mainly stemmed from incidents of sexual violence, and occasionally forced marriage at a young age. Some of the women mentioned in the report are students at institutions of higher education in the West Bank, and some are high school students.
In a number of cases that came to the authors' attention via the press, fathers sold their daughters through "back door" marriages, in which an announcement of marriage is made without the involvement of a religious official.
When one girl is seen to be married repeatedly in the same way, it is clear that it is a cover for sex trafficking. While the authors of the report stress that the prostitutes' clients range from "rich businessmen to young people," they do not give any further details as to their identities and backgrounds.
The report urges the Palestinian authorities and Palestinian society to acknowledge the existence of the problem.
